SilQon OCTEO (Octyltriethoxysilane) is a colorless, clear liquid with the chemical formula C14H32O3Si. Moreover, SilQon OCTEO finds wide application in polymer preparations, coatings, personal care and household products, tire production, and sealants. Additionally, it is known as triethoxyoctylsilane.

Application

SilQon OCTEO can serve as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity on materials such as concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, or mineral fillers. Furthermore, when diluted with an appropriate solvent, it can be used in formulating water-repellent products. Upon proper application, the formulated product will penetrate and provide water repellency by chemically reacting with the cementitious substrate. Treated substrates are hydrophobic and retain their original appearance.
