Description and features
SilQon Memo (3-trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate), is a colorless clear liquid which has C10H20O5Si as chemical formula, is used as adhesion promoter at (in)organic interfaces or as surface modifier or as crosslinker of polymers. It is used as a coupling agent to improve the physical and electrical properties of glass-reinforced and mineral-filled thermosetting resins if exposed to heat and/or moisture. It is typically employed as a blend additive in resin systems that cure via a free radical mechanism (e.g. polyester, acrylic) and in filled or reinforced thermoplastic polymers, including polyolefins and polyurethanes. It is also used to functionalize resins via radical initiated processes – copolymerization or grafting – and to modify surfaces.
3-trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate is also known as Triethoxyoctylsilane and N-Octyltriethoxysilane.

Application
SilQon Memo can be used as a constituent of glass fiber size (glass fiber fillers for unsaturated polyester resins and polyolefins) and as finish for glass fabrics used in unsaturated polyester resins. Further it finds its application as a surface modifier for pigments and fillers for thermosets (unsaturated polyester, MMA), thermoplastics (polyesters and polyolefins) and elastomers. Additionally it is being used as an additive for filled, peroxide-cross-linked elastomers and as an additive for casting resins (unsaturated polyester, MMA).

Storage
Store 3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area and in line with legal requirements.
Keep Silqon Glymo away from heat sources and oxidizing agents.
