Description and features
Iniper DCP (dicumyl peroxide) is a white crystal with the chemical formula C18H22O2.This dialkyl peroxide acts as an initiator for the (co)polymerization of styrene and also facilitates the crosslinking of polymers and elastomers.. Additionally, it finds application as a flame retardant synergist in EPS.
Moreover, people recognize dicumyl peroxide by several other names, including diisopropylbenzene peroxide, bis(α,α-dimethylbenzyl) peroxide, and dicumene hydroperoxide.

Application
Iniper DCP serves as a crosslinking agent in the production of tires, hoses, and wires and cables. Additionally, it acts as a flame retardant synergist in the production of expanded polystyrene (EPS), enhancing the flame retardant action during heating. Moreover, manufacturers can use it for the (co)polymerization of styrene at temperatures ranging from 110 to 165 ºC.
Packaging
Available packaging: 20 KG carton boxes.
Special packaging is available on request.
Storage
Store dicumyl peroxide in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Additionally, keep Iniper DCP away from heat sources and avoid contact with acids, alkalis, heavy metal compounds, and reducing agents. Furthermore, note that the Self Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) in the original packaging is 75 ºC.
MSDS
A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available for Iniper DCP and all other products supplied by Vesta Chemicals BV.
An MSDS outlines the hazards of a product and explains how to handle, use, and store the product safely. Besides it provides important regulatory and emergency response information for the purchased product.
