Disodium-4-4-bis-2-sulfostyryl-biphenyl (Viobrite CBS) is a yellow free flowing fine granule which has the chemical formula C28H20O6S6Na2.
Viobrite CBS has a higher yield of whiteness than the classical stilbene type brighteners. It finds its application in houselhold detergents. Besides it is being used in coatings and textiles.
This substance is also known as Fluorescent Brightener FWA-5, Distyrylbiphenylsulfonate, Fluorescent Whitener CBS and FBA 351.
