Description and features
Glycoluril is a white powder with the chemical formula C4H6N4O2. This bisurea compound primarily produces glycoluril resins for paints and coatings. Additionally, it is effective in water treatment as a swimming pool disinfectant, a slimicide enhancer in pulp and paper processing, and as a slow-release nitrogen fertilizer. In the materials sector, manufacturers use glycoluril in tailor-made polymers, liquid crystals, and synthetic receptors.
Additionally, researchers recognize glycoluril by several other names, including acetylene carbamide, acetylenediurea, acetyleneurea, glyoxaldiureine, and perhydroimidazo[4,5-d]imidazole-2,5-dione.
