Description and features
SilQon TMDSO ( tetramethyldisiloxane ), is a colorless clear liquid which has C4H14OSi2 as chemical formula. It is a is a hydrogen terminated siloxane dimer which hydride groups provide a reactive site. This allows reactions with a variety of substances which contain vinyl groups or with hydroxyl functional polysiloxanes in combination with heat or metal catalysts.
Tetramethyldisiloxane is also known as 1,1,3,3-Tetramethyl-1,3-dihydrodisiloxane.

Application
Tetramethyldisiloxane is a siloxane that is used as a monomer in the production of silicone polymers or silicone resins. Besides it finds its application as a chemical intermediate in the production of other organosilicon substances. Further it is used as water proofing agent for textiles, paper and leather.
