Description and features

CatOnium TPPBr (Tetraphenylphosphonium Bromide) is a white to off-white compound with the chemical formula C24H20BrP. As a quaternary phosphonium salt, TPPBr is primarily used in pharmaceuticals. Specifically, it acts as an accelerator and adhesion promoter for fluoroelastomers, while also serving as a curative for polyacrylate polymers. Additionally, it extends the shelf life of these materials and reduces mold fouling. Moreover, this compound is highly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohols, making it versatile for various applications.

Known as TPP, TPP-Br, TPPB, and TPPBr, Tetraphenylphosphonium Bromide offers significantly better latency and thermal stability compared to amines, imidazoles, and quaternary ammonium salts. Additionally, it provides low odor, minimal color formation, and controlled reactivity.
