Description and features
In most polymers, Rostabil TNF (Trisnonylphenol phosphite) serves as a cost-effective, high-purity stabilizer that enhances color and processing stability during recovery, drying, compounding, processing, and end use. When combined with other stabilizers, such as hindered phenols, it realizes synergistic effects. Manufacturers can add TNF alone or in combination with monomers and/or antioxidant emulsions during recovery or compounding. TNF excels at preventing gel formation during polymerization, finishing, storage, and factory processing.
This versatile phosphite stabilizer proves useful in a wide range of polymers, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, HDPE, LLDPE, SBR, ABS, PVC, and others. Additionally, TNPP functions effectively as a stabilizer for various elastomers such as SBR, NBR, and SIS. It is particularly effective in light-colored solution and emulsion polymerized elastomers. Furthermore, the FDA sanctions the use of TNF for food contact applications under 21 CFR 178.2010, which covers antioxidants and/or stabilizers for polymers. Rostabil TNF also receives clearance for use as an antioxidant in many polymers for food contact applications in Japan, Europe, Canada, and numerous other countries.
